USF faculty pianist Svetozar Ivanov will be presenting a multimedia program in collaboration with dance faculty member Bliss Kohlmyer in a program inspired by Jean Cocteau's 1930 film "Blood of a Poet". The music includes a few tangos by Barber, Stravinsky, Satie, and others. Joining James Suggs (trumpet) are Kenny Anderson (saxophone), Phil Magallanes (piano), Billy Pillucere (bass) and Ric Craig (drums).

The Sarasota Music Festival is underway and you can hear one of the acclaimed faculty members when Bethany Cagle welcomes violinist David Coucheron to our Sarasota studio for live music and conversation! David Coucheron is a former student of the Sarasota Music Festival, and is now the concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. When he was appointed to that position in 2010, he was the youngest concertmaster among any major U.S. orchestra.

Jazz Performance - Eldar Djangirov - September 16, 2015
The pianist Eldar Djangirov began turning the heads of jazz listeners at an early age. His family moved from Kyrgyzstan to Kansas City when he was 10 years old and two years later Eldar was the youngest guest ever on Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz. Fast-forward about 15 years, and he continues to impress listeners around the world, and is visiting Florida for a performance at the Harrison School of the Arts in Lakeland. Eldar stopped by for conversation and a live performance on WUSF's All Night Jazz, with Bob Seymour.
