Igor Stravinsky: Symphony in C

Igor Stravinsky: Symphony in C

During the 20th Century, composers started looking back to the Classical period for guidance and inspiration, which produced a compositional trend known as Neoclassicism. One composer to do this was Igor Stravinsky, who studied select Haydn and Beethoven symphonies while composing his own symphony between 1938 and 1940. The result was the Symphony in C, one of the core works of Stravinsky’s Neoclassical phase, and the Neoclassical period of the 20th century.   [Photo: http://bit.ly/2BolnBF]
