Nicolo Paganini: Violin Concerto No. 1 in D

Nicolo Paganini: Violin Concerto No. 1 in D

Classical Music history has a long tradition of great instrumental soloists composing great works to showcase their instrument: composers like Rachmaninoff and Brahms are two great examples. Both were pianists, and both have magnificent piano concertos. Another great example? Nicolo Paganini: a violinist whose ability seemed inhuman in his lifetime, and a composer who knew exactly how to showcase his own skill on the violin. In fact, when he premiered his Violin Concerto No. 1, it embodied a complexity and technicality that no one had ever heard before.
