Tillman Scholars (rebroadcast from 6/30/15)

The Pat Tillman Foundation is named after a former NFL player who died while serving as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan in 2004.  Every year, the Foundation chooses 60 military veterans or their spouses as Tillman Scholars, honoring them for strength in character, academic excellence and their potential. Two University of South Florida student veterans – including one who served in the same unit as Tillman – were saluted this year. In this University Beat rebroadcast on WUSF 89.7, we find out how their work will serve their fellow vets and aid in the fight against global terrorism.
