Then & Now 1/25: "Auld Lang Syne"
The favorite son and bard of Scotland, Robert Burns was born on this day, January 25th in 1759 in Alloway, Scotland. He wrote so much that touched the hearts of composers, who in turn wrote music about his works. He also cobbled together that famous song we sing or try to remember the words to as we say farewell to the old year and usher in the new one, “Auld Lang Syne.”
And tonight at eight, as part of its American Legacy Series, American Stage in St. Pete presents Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin In the Sun.”
